For the past three years, I have taught in an urban school in New York City. Day after day in this harsh city has become too much of a routine and I have decided it is time for a change. One would think that I would just transfer schools, city, state, or maybe even jobs. Although I have decided to change continents. You read correctly ... continents.
I am migrating from the US of A to our southern sister(or enemy- didn't Chavez call Bush the devil?) South America. Teaching will be taken to a new level in Quito, Ecuador. For those of you who know nothing about Quito....... Quito is a city located at a very high altitude with an active volcano in close proximity. Yes, I have chosen to leave the life of subway rats and swift little cockroaches for a community of people that frequently dine on guinea pigs.
