Rainy Season in Quito

It is now rainy season here in the middle of the world and it rains at exactly the same time each day! I can't stand the raining season schedule because it ruins my time to hang out outside after work. No garden, no gym, no enjoying the sun that we have previously had in el pasado. Instead, I exit the bus and I am greeted by an incessant downpour accompanied by lighting bolts. The lightning bolts are so bright they light up the entire sky. However, I am quite pleased that Josh and I will be going to the beach next weekend. We are staying at an Eco- lodge on the front beach and I am so excited. I am getting a bit tired of Quito weather and I would like some sun and heat. If you want to check out the Eco- lodge the website is www.soldesua.com. Josh made all of the reservations and we are both excited to take an Ecuadorian bus through the middle of the country for 6 hours. Well, maybe not that excited. At least it will not be raining there- I think?!?!

Nothing else too exciting is happening here- I am pretty sad that I have to give up one Spanish class once a week in order to complete certification in Peace and Conflict Resolution in the classroom. I am pretty excited about the course, but I can only take 2 Spanish classes a week for a month. Luckily, I also have a few speaking partners that I have been teaching English. One of my partners now greets me and says- "Yo what's up brotha." I think that I have taught him quite well. I will post pictures of the beach trip next week, and I hope that I see a monkey. I am dying to see a monkey. I even bought a postcard with a monkey riding a big black pig that I meant to send a friend in Pittsburgh. I will let you all know if I see a monkey- I may have to put him under my hat in the airplane.
